The lever guide has a selector lever (7) and an associated locking device (3) with locking members (4,5), driven by a setting device (2). The locking members are translatory and/or rotatory moveable, and are elastically connected to each other. The setting device has a setting part (6), e.g. an electrical lifting magnet, located on the first locking member and in active connection with it. The second locking member is connected to the first one via a traction element (8) and/or a pressure element, e.g. a spring or damper.
