To fit a brush head with bristle bundles, e.g. a toothbrush (21), an arc (8) swings in a cyclic motion between two bristle supply points (1,2). A bristle insertion tool (20) is at the center of the swing movement. When a bristle bundle has been taken into an opening (11) in the arc from the first supply point, it is moved under the insertion tool for the bristles to be anchored in the brush head and, at the same time a second opening (12) in the arc is aligned with the second supply point to be charged with a bundle of bristles to be brought to the insertion tool when the arc swings back. The process is repeated until the brush is charged with the required anchored bristle bundles.
