The invention relates to a method for the production of protective coatings on the surface of chemically active materials, comprising a mixture consisting of a chemically active metal and a meltable stable element.The inventive method is characterized in that it comprises the following steps: provision of at least one chemically active metal A; provision of at least one meltable stab le element B; mixing metal (A) and element (B) in order to form a mixture; treating said mixture on the surface thereof with a liquid medium (L) which can dissolve metal (A) but which cannot dissolve element (B) at a temperatur e which is higher than the melting point of element (B), whereby a coating is created on the surface of the mixture, substantially consisting of element (B); the treatment is terminated when the desired thickness of coating is obtained; the liquid medium is removed and the mixture is purified and dried . |
