摘要 Described and illustrated is a mass flowmeter operating by the Coriolis principle, incorporating a fluid-conducting Coriolis conduit (1), at least two oscillators (2) associated with and exciting the Coriolis conduit (1), as well as at least two detectors (3) associated with the Coriolis conduit (1) for capturing Coriolis forces and/or Coriolis-force-derived Coriolis oscillations, said Coriolis conduit (1) permitting excitation in a first oscillation pattern and in a second oscillation pattern independent of the first oscillation pattern. According to the invention, particularly precise determination of the mass flow independent of changes in external parameters is achievable in that the Coriolis conduit (1) is excitable in a third oscillatory pattern that is independent of the first and second oscillation patterns and that as a result of the response of the Coriolis conduit (1), captured by the detectors (3), to the excitation in the first oscillation pattern, the excitation in the second oscillation pattern and the excitation in the third oscillation pattern characteristic values of the mass flowmeter are determined with the aid of a model.
