A heat treating device for simultaneously heat−treating synthetic fiber yarn with the saturated steam of heat medium liquid in a plurality of closed containers, wherein the overall height of the device is lowered less than a conventional one when the device is installed together with the other devices to reduce the cost of a building for storing the devices, the closed containers for the saturated steam of the heat medium liquid are formed longer in horizontal direction to prevent a boiler for heating the heat medium liquid from being installed for each closed container so as to reduce a production cost, and the outer heating surfaces of the closed containers are faced downward and the heating surfaces of the closed containers are disposed at positions higher than the heat medium liquid level in the boiler.
