Driver warning and information system based on the position of the vehicle determined by, e.g. GPS or manual input

The driver information system includes a device for position determination, program logic, a database as well as an output component and optional additional components. The program logic provides warnings via the output component depending on the position of the vehicle. Position determination may be e.g. via GPS or by manual input. The system may provide warnings for speed control e.g. when the driver is driving at excessive speed, at dangerous places etc.
