METHOD AND DEVICE FOR FILLING A CAVITY BETWEEN TWO SHEETS OFFIRE-RESISTING COMPOSITE GLASS

The invention relates to a fire-resisting composite glass consisting of at least two sheets of glass (1,2) and a cavity (6) disposed therebetween. The distance between the sheets of glass (1,2) is determined by means of a peripheral cord (3) made of plastic spacer material. A cord (4) made of sealing material is placed in the edge area between the sheets of glass (1,2 ). At least one core element is used to form an opening in the cord (3) of spac er material in order to fill the cavity (6). Said opening is closed by a retaining stopper after filling and the cavity (6) is de-aerated. When closi ng occurs, the plastic spacer material (3) is re-introduced in the area of the opening and the retaining stopper is covered with sealing material (4). The method and device for carrying out said method enable peripheral cords (3,4) made of spacer material or sealing material to be automatically introduced a nd enable sealing and protection of the edge areas before the cavity (6) is filled.
