Dental composite material including a hybrid filler and method for producing the same

In a dental material (I) based on a polymerizable binder monomers, a cold-, hot- or photo-polymerizable binder and (based on (I)) 0.5-75 wt.% hybrid filler (A), 0.0-95 wt.% other fillers (B) and 0-2 wt.% other aggregates, (A) consists of a sintered mixture of (B) and primary particles (D) of oxides, fluorides, sulfates, phosphates, borides, nitrides, carbides and/or silicides of Group I-V elements. Independent claims are included for: (i) the preparation of (I), including the production of (A) by sintering the mixture of (B) and (D); and (ii) the filler (A).
