Automatic preparation of a sample

Weight data are detected by scales (1) connected to a computer unit (3,4), or having an integral computer unit. At least one additional parameter that is typical for sample preparation is derived from the weight data, taking account of the current or previous methods of preparation. Weight data obtained during preparation are automatically stored and associated with the preparation method concerned. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a software product; (2) a system of automating data acquisition.
