PURPOSE: A spool valve for reducing friction is provided to improve performance of the valve by decreasing friction between the spool valve and a valve body with applying rotational force to a shaft of the spool valve. CONSTITUTION: A spool valve is composed of a valve body having a chamber connecting to plural ports to supply hydraulic pressure, and a valve spool(20) embedded in the chamber of the valve body and moved axially according to control pressure. First and second lands(21,22) are formed in the valve spool to supply hydraulic pressure, and a groove(24) is formed between lands. A concave or convex blade part(26) is formed in the groove to apply rotational force to a shaft of the valve spool by streaming fluid through the groove. Performance of the valve is improved by reducing friction between the spool valve and the valve body, and a valve stick is prevented.
