PURPOSE: A gearshift lever assembly for a vehicle is provided to reduce components as the operation force of a select and shift is transmitted by one rod, to simplify assembly and maintenance thereof, and to improve the reliability of operations. CONSTITUTION: A gearshift lever assembly is composed of a knob(2) installed on the upper portion of a gearshift lever(4) to operate speed changing by a driver, the gearshift lever hinged on a gearshift case, an operation rod(10) connected with the lower portion of the gearshift lever to perform rectilinear and rotational movements by front and rear, and right and left operations of the gearshift lever, a select link rod(14) coupling with one side of the operation rod to transmit the operation force of the rotating operation rod to a select cable(12), and a link device delivering the operation force for the rectilinear movement of the operation rod to a shift cable(16).
