Medicines for the prevention or treatment of hyperlipidemia containing as the active ingredient heterocyclic compounds of the general formula [1] or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; and novel compounds included among those of the general formula [1]: [wherein R1 is optionally substituted aryl or an optionally substituted aromatic heterocyclic group; Het is a divalent aromatic heterocyclic group; D is alkylene, alkenylene, alkynylene, or the like; and E is carboxyl or the like]. The compounds exhibit effects of decreasing blood triglyceride, LDL-C and blood sugar and are useful in the prevention or treatment of hyperlipidemia, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, obesity, and so on. |
