PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacing member and an electrode holder that resist erosion and damage in the case of ignition failure or in ordinary use and that have a long service life, or to provide a plasma torch that uses such spacing member and electrode holder. SOLUTION: The spacing member 2 holds a constant distance between electrodes while electrically insulating between them in a plasma torch 1. In addition, the spacing member 2 is provided with an electric insulating performance and formed with ceramics having a thermal shock resistance of 400 delta T deg.C or above.
