PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swing arm for a motorcycle having an integrated type oil storing compartment and a caliper mounting boss. SOLUTION: The motorcycle 10 has a frame 12, an engine 13, a steering assembly 18, a front wheel 20, a swing arm 22 mounted on the frame 12 and provided with a hollow part to store oil to be used for the engine 13, and a rear wheel 24 rotatably mounted on the swing arm 22. An attachable/detachable plate closes the hollow part of the swing arm 22, and a first coupling 74, a second and a third coupling 86 are related to the plate. It is desirable that an oil breather pipe 78 is connected to the first coupling 74, an oil pickup pipe is connected to the second coupling and an oil return pipe 90 is connected to the third coupling 86. A fixed position caliper mounting boss 44 is provided on the swing arm 22. The swing arm 22 has a fixed axle 40 for the rear wheel 44 to correctly isolate a caliper 32 from the rear wheel 24.
