PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve scraping equipment for residues on a screen for removing suspensions or sedimentation in raw water. SOLUTION: A rotary screen is constituted by supporting and installing a drum (10) by means of a treated water tank (1) and a waste cleaning water pipe (9) connected to a trough (43), supporting and installing a scraper (18) touched to a slit surface of a wedge wire (42) adjusted to the drum (10) at the waste cleaning water pipe (9), connecting the drum (10) and the scraper (18) to driving means and rotating the scraper (18) in the same direction as the direction of the drum (10) at a differential speed higher than the speed of the drum (10). While scraping the solid contents such as the residues from the filter medium of the drum (10) by the scraper (18), the rotary screen moves the residues upward of the drum (10), scrapes down the collected solid contents onto a trough (43) and regenerates the filter medium by also scraping the fibers which cannot be removed by the cleaning water and are entangled with the filter medium.
