PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood collecting instrument where its needle tip is prevented from being exposed and with which an engagement state with a connector is reliably kept as the blood collecting instrument is engaged with the connector without a dead space. SOLUTION: This instrument includes a blood collecting needle, a needle base fixed to the base end part of the needle, a first protection cover attached to the base end of the needle base and having an engaging means with the connector which is arranged on an extracorporeal blood flow passage and a second protection cover which is engaged with the end of the first protection cover and protects the needle point of the blood collecting needle.
