PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of switching driving at steering torque determined irrespective of road surface situation and driving at conventional steering torque of steering assistance. SOLUTION: This electric power steering device is provided with a torque sensor 11 for detecting steering torque applied to a steering wheel (not shown) of a vehicle and a first control means 17 for outputting a first control signal for driving a motor M for steering assistance based on the steering torque detected by the torque sensor 11. It is further provided with a steering angle sensor 10 for detecting a steering angle of the steering wheel, a model steering means 20 for outputting a model steering angle based on a model steering model 20a determining the relation of steering torque and model steering angle, a second control means 21 for outputting a second control signal for driving the motor M for steering assistance to reduce a difference between the model steering angle outputted based on steering torque by the model steering means 20 and steering angle, and a first change-over means 18 for switching the first control signal and the second control signal. |
