PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain uniformization of intensity distribution of a laser beam in a laser beam machine. SOLUTION: With a laser beam transmitted on a step index type multimode fiber, the transmission speed of the laser beam varies by the angle of incidence on the fiber. Accordingly, when the laser beam transmitted on the fiber is outputted from the emitting end of the fiber, the laser beam shows an intensity distribution roughly flat or different from that of the incident light. Using this phenomenon, the structure is designed to uniformize or change the spatial light intensity of the laser beam.
