PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer bellows capable of reducing noise from the outside of a car transmitted into the inside thereof and having excellent durability, which is for a rolling stock and superior in excellent productivity and workability, and to provide a mounting method therefor. SOLUTION: The annular outer bellows covers the whole periphery of a space in a connection part between cars, and the outer bellows 2 is composed of flexible membrane bodies 6 attached opposing a rear end part of the front car and a front end part of the rear car, respectively, and having a U-shaped cross section. The annular outer bellows 2 is composed of lateral and vertical linear members 3 covering the surrounding of the space between cars and corner members 4 connecting four corners. When mounting the outer bellows 2, lateral and vertical linear members 3 are first attached, and then the corner members 4 are attached by overlapping them on end parts of the linear members 3 to form the annular outer bellows 2.
