METALLIC FILTER UNIT AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic filter unit having high filtering performance and a method for fabricating the same. SOLUTION: At least portions of a metallic filter using metallic fine wires or a metallic nonwoven fabric subjected to brazing are oxidation-treated and the filter is joined to a flange by brazing. Diffusion and erosion of the material of the filter in a brazing filler metal can be prevented by coating the surface of the material of the filter with an oxide layer. A nickel-base alloy is desirable as the brazing filler metal.
