PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body frame for a scooter type motorcycle having high productivity. SOLUTION: A rear end part of a down tube 12 is connected to a pair of left and right back stays 14 and 15 by a first cross member 16. The first cross member 16 is constituted of a pair of left and right arm parts 41 and 42 opened to the front of the vehicle body and formed into U-shapes in cross sections and a planar part 43 formed integrally with both the arm parts 41 and 42. The arm parts 41 and 42 are laterally mounted between the rear end part of the down tube 12 and the left and right back stays 14 and 15. The planar part 43 is welded at an opening edge part at a rear end of the down tube 12.
