DEVICE FOR GENERATING SCRAMBLING CODES IN CODE DIVISION MULTIPLE ACCESS MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A device for generating scrambling codes in a CDMA mobile communication system is provided to circularly-shift or mask scrambling codes nearest to scrambling codes to be generated among stored scrambling codes, and to generate scrambling codes for initialization, thereby reducing time for initialization. CONSTITUTION: A storage(912) stores scrambling codes and mask values in accordance with each offset corresponding to scrambling codes existing between two optional scrambling codes, and loads one of the mask values and one of the scrambling codes by a load command. A controller(910) commands load of a scrambling code of a maximum number that does not exceed a number of a predetermined scrambling code, and commands load of a mask value corresponding to an offset between the number of the predetermined scrambling code and the number of the loaded scrambling code. A scrambling code generator(914) masks the scrambling code loaded from the storage(912) with the mask value loaded from the storage(912), and generates the predetermined scrambling code.
