PURPOSE: A device for keeping and driving a plurality of disc type recording media and a method for correcting errors in a starting point of a position sensor are provided to conveniently keep a plurality of discs and automatically receive or withdraw the discs by simple button manipulations. CONSTITUTION: A device for keeping and driving a plurality of disc type recording media includes a case, a tray rack mounted to the case for movably mounting a plurality of trays for loading discs, a lifting element(41) for lifting to convey a selected tray among the plurality of trays, a timing belt(35) coupled with the lifting element for lifting the lifting element, a first motor(38) for driving the belt, a forward/backward moving element(50) mounted to the lifting element to lift in association with the lifting element, a driving unit(60) for driving the forward/backward moving element to move to and fro, a position sensor mounted to the tray racks for fixing the position of an starting point, and a disc sensor for sensing the disc on the lifting element. The forward/backward moving element is mounted movably to and fro with respect to the forward/backward moving element and detachably mounted with the selected tray. In considering a pre-input reference position of the position sensor, the current position of the position sensor is corrected for speedily and accurately arranging the starting point position.
