PURPOSE: Provided are a crystalline maltosyl glucoside having non-hygroscopicity, non-reducibility, superior free-flowing ability, less fermentability and superior solubility, a method for preparing the same, and a cosmetic containing the same. CONSTITUTION: The cosmetic comprises a crystalline maltosyl glucoside, which is selected from the group consisting of hydrous crystalline maltosyl glucoside having predominant diffraction angles 2 theta of 7.9 degree, 13.2 degree, 17.2 degree and 22.6 degree on powder X-ray diffraction analysis, anhydrous crystalline maltosyl glucoside having predominant diffraction angles 2 theta of 7.7 degree, 13.5 degree, 17.6 degree, and 23.6 degree on powder X-ray diffraction analysis, and mixtures thereof, in amount of 0.1-99.9 w/w%(in dry solids). |
