PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable viewing device with excellent user-friendliness. SOLUTION: The portable viewing device raises an alarm notice to urge a user to replace a memory card 3 when the residual capacity of the memory card 3 reaches a prescribed capacity or below or is lost during storage of coded video/audio data to the memory card. While the memory card 3 is not replaced after the alarm notice, the portable viewing device deletes existing files with lower priority having stored in the loaded memory card 3 to reserve storage areas going newly to be received. The portable viewing device stores the coded video/audio data to a built-in memory (SDRAM 219) during replacement of the memory card 3. |
