PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of performing control so that uniform fixing is stably performed at high speed without causing wrinkles and irregular gloss corresponding to paper quality even when the thickness and the glossiness of paper to be used are different. SOLUTION: This image forming device is equipped with a thermal fixing device constituted of a heating roll as a heating member incorporating a heater as a heating source inside and having at least one elastic layer, and a pressure roll as a pressure member incorporating the heater inside, set so that an external heating roll abuts on its surface and having at least one elastic layer. In the image forming device, only the heater inside the external heating roll is actuated as the heater on the pressure roll side when performing image forming operation, and only the heater inside the pressure roll is actuated as the heater on the pressure roll side other than when performing the image forming operation. |
