PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver and a drive control method in which deterioration of performance or breakdown due to overheat is prevented when a shape memory alloy is used in reversed tension system. SOLUTION: Two shape memory alloys (c11, c12) are connected, respectively, with a movable part wherein a control for heating one shape memory alloy (c11 or c12) by applying a voltage or a current thereto and deforming the other shape memory alloy (c12 or c11) with a force generated from the thermally deformed shape memory alloy (c11 or c12) and for operating the movable part is performed continuously. Position of the movable part is detected by means of a position sensor (c22) to produce a positional signal and noise is removed therefrom by a noise removing means (c29) thus preventing overheat of the shape memory alloys (c11, c12).
