PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture display device which is made relatively thin and can prevent the reduction of contrast caused by light made incident from almost all directions. SOLUTION: Pixels 2, 3, 4, etc., consisting of aluminum electrodes 21, 31, and 41, EL layers 22, 32, and 42, and ITO transparent electrodes 23, 33, and 43 and wirings 6, 6, 6... are provided on a glass substrate 1, and a glass substrate 8 on the light emission side is provided on them. A plurality of color filters 12, 13, 14... allowing light of different colors to pass through are provided on the glass substrate 8. Solar light is transmitted through the green color filter 13 from the outside and is made incident on the inside and is reflected by the surface of the wiring 6 as shown by an arrow S. Reflected light made incident on the blue color filter 14 as shown by an arrow T is absorbed by the blue color filter 14 for the purpose of assuming green color.
