<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for accurately and efficiently processing a compressed data stream. SOLUTION: The compressed data stream has source segments in a 1st group and source segments in a 2nd group. The source segments in the 1st group need not be decompressed during processing and only the status, e.g. time stamp of the source segments needs to be corrected. The source segments in the 2nd group need to be decompressed for next operation. Then the operated data segments are recompressed. Finally, the obtained data segments in the 2nd group and the source segments in the 2nd group are integrated to generate a compressed data stream having been processed. Here, neither unnecessary decompression nor unnecessary recompression is performed, so high efficiency can be obtained during the processing of the compressed data stream and error propagation is reduced.</p> |
