PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily acquire network setting information and to enable a user to confirm conditions during the execution of acquiring processing. SOLUTION: A personal computer 1 is composed of an input part 21, a control part 22, a network control part 23, a display control part 24, and a display part 4. The input part 21 receives the input of a keyboard, a mouse or the like and outputs it to the control part 22. The keyboard is provided with an instruction button. When the instruction button is depressed, the network control part 23 starts a network setting utility and controls a network information acquiring part 231, so that the network setting information can be acquired from a network server 13. The display part 4 displays various kinds of information according to the control of the display control part 24, but in the case of network setting, a state under network setting is displayed.
