PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass for display and a glass panel for display in which break by heat or development of glass crack and implosion in manufacturing process are suppressed. SOLUTION: This is a glass for display having a glass strengthened region that comprises an outer surface layer which exists from the outer surface having a compressive stress to the position closest to the outer surface where the stress becomes 0 MPa, an inner surface layer which exists from the inner surface having a compressive stress to the position closest to the inner surface where the stress becomes 0 MPa, and an intermediate layer which is positioned between the outer surface layer and the inner surface layer and at least a part in the thickness direction becomes the compressive stress.
