PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electric machine that enables broadening of a winding space without enlarging the external dimensions of a rotating electric machine or reducing the inside of pole faces. SOLUTION: Shapes of an end surface covering part 13c of an insulator 13 and an upright wall part 13e are decided in such a way that a part 13p of the outer circumferential surface of the upright wall part 13e of the insulator 13 that is positioned to correspond to the minimum thickness part 9e of a yoke 9a becomes flush with the outside circumferential surface of the yoke 9a. An opening 7e that is blocked by a part 13p of the outer circumferential surface of the insulator 13 is formed in a circumferential wall part 7b of an end bracket 7.
