PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel lightning arrester in which an insulating envelope and electrodes are firmly bonded and open-air discharge is surely performed. SOLUTION: The lightning arrester 1 allows a sure open-air discharge by fitting male screws 210, 410 at an outer periphery edge of electrodes 2, 4 separated by a cylindrical insulating envelope 3 and fitting a female screw at an inner periphery edge of the insulating envelope with a screwing part of at least two screwing threads and with the number of screw threads 311 of the female screw 310 set more than those 211, 411 of the male screws 210, 410, which enables to easily form a gap length G and to have the insulating envelope 3 firmly bonded with the electrodes 2, 4.
