Ingredient for food product for human consumption is made from ground linseed grains, impregnated with steam and maturated to form a paste, and forced under pressure through an extrusion head. The resultant ingredient, containing 20 - 90 % of linseed grains, has a cellulose, starch or protein composition, and is incorporated at a rate of 1 - 10 % in a food product such as bread.
