Mechanical energy generator uses gravity and buoyancy forces acting on variable volume elements controlled by gas cylinders

The mechanical energy generator consists of two wheels (1, 2) connected by an endless chain (6) with variable-volume elements (7, 8) attached to it. Each of the elements is attached to one or more links of the chain, and their volume depends on whether they are on the rising of falling side of the chain, which is immersed in water, by means of an inner weight connected by a lever to a gas spring. On the falling side the weight compresses the gas spring to reduce the volume, and on the rising side it releases it, increasing the volume and consequently the buoyancy.
