PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of performing the high-speed recording of contents data. SOLUTION: The recording device receives contents and first copy control information from a secure input section 11, receives contents from an insecure input section 10, detects second copy control information from contents embedded as a watermark to the contents received from the insecure input section, a control section 9 decides the propriety of recording of the contents received from the secure input section 11 of the basis of the first copy control information independently of contents of the second copy control information, and decides the propriety of recording of the contents received from the insecure input section 10 on the basis of the second copy control information. Further, the control section 9 remarks no second copy control information. The rendering device conducts this remarking.
