PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately completely execute the setting of an examination claim date in a data base, the information of an examination claim fact to an agent or the like after sending an examination claim from an electronic application terminal installed in its own enterprise to the Patent Office. SOLUTION: After accepting an examination claim bill, a proof returned from the Patent Office is stored in an FD and transferred to a terminal capable of accessing a document DB storing the data of respective applications. The application number of an application of which examination claim bill is received and the presented date (accepted data) of the examination claim bill are extracted from the proof stored in the FD. An examination claim evaluation table prepared for the application specified by the number is retrieved from the examination claim evaluation tables of individual applications stored in the document DB, the presented date is set up as the examination claim date and an agent read out from the document is informed of a fact that the examination of the application has been claimed by an e-mail.
