PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk camcorder of a small-sized and thin model at a low cost. SOLUTION: An optical head unit, a spindle motor 2, and a drive mechanism for the optical head unit 4 are placed on a side of a chassis 1 opposite to the side on which a cartridge is placed, and at least a part of a lens unit 16 is placed to the part of the chassis on which they are not mounted adjacent to the side of the chassis 1.
