PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the stability of data in each operation while securing the reliability of data in a data base to be used for various kinds of operation. SOLUTION: On a previously set extraction date, the data of patent applications matched with a previously set extraction condition are read out from a domestic patent master 101a in a main frame 101 and written in an examination claim DB 102a of a server 102. Whether the examination claim of each application is required or not is investigated by simply using data (current data of the extraction date) in the DB 102a and the investigated result of the application and errors detected/corrected in the investigation process are also simply stored in the DB 102a. Although the data in the DB 102a are returned and written in the master 101a after the lapse of a prescribed period, the data in the master 101a can be optionally updated in a period from the reading of the data up to the return of the data to the master 101a.
