PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent users from performing a wasteful upload processing in a server device for presenting information storage areas having predetermined storage capacities to users on a network. SOLUTION: By using an averaged file size corresponding to the model of image input equipment used by a pre-registered user (S4110), the number of remaining transferable files is estimated by using unused storage capacity and the averaged file size (S4112). When a request for an upload processing is given from the user, the user is notified of the number of estimated transferable files before the actual data transfer processing is started.
