PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkali storage battery with excellent productivity, of which, crack on a positive electrode, breakage, and exfoliation of active material are restrained, and internal short-circuit is prevented. SOLUTION: For an alkali storage battery, active material powder made of nickel hydroxide as a main component is filled in a metallic porous base plate having three dimensionally continued spaces, and an electrode body, composed of pressed positive electrode plate and negative electrode plate facing each other through a separator, is housed in a case, and the upper part of the case is hermetically sealed by a sealing plate. At least more than two sheets of the positive electrode plates are laid one upon another after the active material powder is filled, and formed into one positive electrode plate by pressing. |
