PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object image pickup device using a miniaturized photoe lectric conversion cell capable of recognizing the moving direction of an object to be detected or recognizing the form. SOLUTION: The object image pickup device is composed of a photoelectric conversion cell array, in which a plurality of photoelectric conversion cells are arrayed in the form of matrix, vertical load circuit array 15 connected to the photoelectric conversion cell array, horizontal load circuit array 17, output processing circuit 23 provided with a vertical data processing circuit 19 and a horizontal data processing circuit 21 and simultaneously connected to the vertical data processing circuit 19 and the horizontal data processing circuit 21, and a control circuit 27 connected to the optic/electric converting cell array 17, vertical data processing circuit 19, horizontal data processing circuit 21 and output processing circuit 23.
