PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor having a low ESR characteristic. SOLUTION: The solid electrolytic capacitor in which a conductive high polymer is formed in a capacitor element which winds an anodic electrode and a cathodic electrode via a separator. A capacitance per reduced etching amount unit in dielectric strength 20.5 V is 5.5μF/mg or over, the resistivity of the foil is 0.27 to 0.7 mΩ, a foil width is 1.5 to 4 mm, a foil area is 150 mm<2> , so that the resistance of the electrode foil is reduced, the resistance of electrolyte between the electrodes is reduced, and the contact resistance at a bonded portion of the electrode foil and an electrode leading terminal is also reduced. The solid electrolytic capacitor provided in this manner has a low ESR characteristic.
