SOUND SOURCE SEARCH SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound source search system which is simple-structured and can identify and display a source of noise such as the noise of a plant or the like accurately even outdoors. SOLUTION: Microphones M1-M4 are disposed in such manner that detection sections of these microphones form a square centering around the origin O in the X-Y plane. A fifth microphone M5 is so disposed that a detection section of the microphone M5 is located above the center of the square formed by the microphone M1-M4 and distances between the microphone M5 and the microphones M1-M4 are all the same. The direction from which the sound comes is estimated from a difference in arrival times of output signals of the microphones M1-M5, and an image near the place where the sound source is located is picked up by a camera 11, and the estimated location of the sound source is displayed on the image displayed on a display 23 of a personal computer 20.
