PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker capable of exhibiting superior cutoff performance and improving the reliability by preventing the emission of metal vapor by hot gas and the lowering of operation performance of an operation converting mechanism in the circuit breaker of low-driving energy activating both of a pair of electrodes. SOLUTION: A connecting rod 4 and a connecting ring 10a are constituted of a high melting-point material. The connecting ring 10a is disposed in the outer circumference part of a nozzle drawn back from the tip of an insulating nozzle 3 and an arc extinguishing gas blown from the insulating nozzle 3 between the electrodes 1 and 2 is prevented from its directly hitting thereto.
