PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of reducing wasteful transmission of image data in the case that a free capacity of a data storage device is deficient when the image data recorded in a medium of the digital camera are transmitted to the data storage device and stored therein. SOLUTION: A medium 12 stores image data S photographed by using a digital camera 1. When a free capacity of the medium 12 is lost, the digital camera transmits the image data S via a mobile phone 3 to a photo shop 2 to allow a server 22 to store the image data S. Before the transmission of the image data S, the digital camera 1 transmits capacity information C indicative of a total capacity of the image data S to the photo shop 2, which compares the free capacity of the server 22 with the total capacity of the image data S and transmits information D corresponding to the result of comparison to the mobile phone 3. The information D includes information denoting available of reception of the image data when the server 22 has a free capacity and includes information of processing such as deletion of image data stored in the server 22 or the like when the free capacity is deficient.
