PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid car that, in the case a restricted area exists before the destination where cars emitting exhaust gas are prohibited from entering, can pass through the restricted area and reach its destination. SOLUTION: The car searches for the route using a navigation system 9, detects whether or not there is along the route a restricted area where cars are prohibited from entering, drives an electric motor 3 with a gasoline engine 4 to charge a battery 2 until the restricted area is reached, and upon reaching the restricted area, passes through the restricted area by running only the electric motor 3 with the power supplied by the battery 2. By this means, a detour need not be made around the restricted area and the destination can be reached in the shortest distance. Further, since the gasoline engine is not run, the environment of the restricted area may be protected. |
