PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a long waiting time is required for the light intensity of a lamp to be stabilized from starting lighting of the lamp, that the light intensity emitted from the lamp is influenced by ambient temperature so that variation is caused in scanning image quality, and that the voltage supplied to an inverter at scanning is always applied to the lamp since the power is applied so that the lamp life is short, in a conventional scanner device using a lamp as a light source. SOLUTION: A scanner device that uses a lamp as a light source is provided with a means for supplying at least two or more voltages to an inverter for driving the lamp, a means for supplying the voltage higher than that supplied to the inverter at scanning, at start of lighting of the lamp, a means for regulating voltage supplied to the inverter so that light intensity of the lamp becomes a specified scanning light intensity before starting scanning, and a means for decreasing the voltage supplied to the inverter during the idle state from end of scanning to start scanning. |
