PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize tag information attached to image data acquired by a digital camera and obtain a reproduced image with high quality. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus is provided with; a first color conversion section 30 that uses an input device profile selected among profiles stored in a memory 31 based on model information of a digital camera 10 and strobe ON/OFF information included in the tag information T to correct characteristics of the model of the digital camera; an image processing section 40 for deciding a photographing scene based on the object luminance information, the object distance information and the strobe ON/OFF information included in the tag information T and using image processing conditions set according to the decided scene to perform image processing; and a second color conversion section 50 for estimating a type of the image based on the photographer information included in the tag information T to perform color reproduction processing according to the type of the image.
