PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection system that can realize, in particular, a long distance phone call, a long distance FAX communication, and a long distance videophone call at a fixed amount of low charge and properly cope with diversified needs of users. SOLUTION: The connection system 10 comprises receiver side communication terminals 16A such as a phone, a facsimile machine, and a videophone; and caller side communication terminals 14A such as a phone, a facsimile machine, and a videophone connected to the Internet 12 by a connector 22 at all times. The connector 22 is connected to a gateway 24 for interconnecting the communication terminals 14A and the Internet 12 at a fixed amount of system subscription charge through an optical fiber communication line network 26.
